Indulge in these juicy beef burgers blended with bourbon whiskey, crispy bacon, and a decadent homemade maple whiskey sauce.

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1/4 cup whiskey (bourbon)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 6 slices bacon (thick-cut)
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese
  • 6 burger buns (preferably brioche)
  • 1/2 cup crispy fried onions
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Pickles (optional)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon whiskey
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the mayonnaise, maple syrup, whiskey, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Cover and refrigerate.
  2. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  3. Mix the ground beef, whiskey, maple syrup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and sea salt. Form into 6 patties.
  4. Chill the patties for 15-20 minutes to help them hold their shape.
  5. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat, lightly oil the grates.
  6. Grill the patties for 3-4 minutes per side until they reach desired doneness. Top each with cheese in the last minute of cooking.
  7. Toast the burger buns cut-side down on the grill for about 30 seconds.
  8. Assemble the burgers with sauce, lettuce, cheesy patty, crispy bacon, fried onions, and pickles if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the patties in whiskey and maple syrup before grilling. Substitute bacon with avocado for a lighter option.
