A moist and indulgent cake soaked in three types of milk, topped with whipped cream, perfect for celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for whipped cream)
  • Additional sugar for whipped cream (optional)
  • Fresh fruit or berries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl until well combined.
  3. Cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and finishing with the flour mixture.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  7. Combine the evaporated milk and sweetened condensed milk in a bowl. Poke holes in the cooled cake with a fork and slowly pour the milk mixture over the top.
  8. Refrigerate the cake for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
  9. Whip the heavy cream with additional vanilla and sugar until stiff peaks form, then spread over the top.
  10. Garnish with fresh fruit or berries if desired, then slice and serve.

Notes

Be sure to poke enough holes in the cake for the milk mixture to soak in well. Let it sit overnight for enhanced flavor.
