These Sweet and Sticky Steak Bites are a quick and delightful dish that captures the essence of hearty comfort food, perfect for busy weeknights and impressive enough for guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Sirloin Steak (or Flank Steak, cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 0.25 cup Soy Sauce (low sodium recommended)
  • 0.25 cup Brown Sugar (or coconut sugar as an alternative)
  • 2 tablespoons Honey (or maple syrup for a vegan option)
  • 2 tablespoons Minced Garlic (fresh preferred over powder)
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger (grated)
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil (olive oil can be substituted)
  • 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (adjust to taste)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • Green Onions (sliced)
  • Sesame Seeds

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Steak: In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Whisk until the sugar dissolves. Add the bite-sized steak pieces to the bowl and let them marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Heat the Skillet: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. The skillet should be hot enough to sear the steak bites beautifully.
  3. Sauté the Steak Bites: Remove the steak bites from the marinade (reserve the marinade for later) and season them with salt and pepper. Place them in the hot skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes without moving them, then flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until your desired doneness is achieved.
  4. Add the Marinade: Once cooked, pour the reserved marinade into the skillet. Let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes until it thickens and coats the steak with a glossy finish.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle sliced green onions and sesame seeds over the steak bites. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

These steak bites work beautifully on their own, but pair with rice or a fresh salad for extra flair. Allow leftovers to cool and store in an airtight container, reheating gently when needed.
