A rich and comforting pasta dish featuring smoky sausage, garlic butter, and creamy Parmesan sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners.

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb smoked sausage
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Boil the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Brown the sliced smoked sausage in the skillet for 5–7 minutes.
  4. Sauté the minced garlic and spices for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Create the broth base by adding chicken broth and letting it simmer for 3–4 minutes.
  6. Make it creamy by mixing in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until blended.
  7. Combine the cooked penne pasta into the sauce and season with salt and pepper.
  8. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Can be frozen for up to 2 months. Use freshly grated Parmesan for best melting quality.
