A delicious and simple smoked ham recipe glazed with honey and topped with caramelized sweet onions, perfect for family gatherings and holiday feasts.

  • 1 fully cooked smoked ham
  • 2 large sweet onions, caramelized
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Mix together honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper in a small bowl to create the glaze.
  3. Place the smoked ham in a roasting pan and brush the honey glaze generously over the ham.
  4. Layer the caramelized onions evenly over the ham.
  5. Cover the ham with foil and bake for about 60 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 30-45 minutes, basting occasionally.
  7. Let the ham rest before slicing and garnishing with fresh herbs.

Notes

For perfect caramelized onions, cook them low and slow. You can substitute honey with maple syrup for a different flavor.
