Tender and juicy pulled pork slow-cooked to perfection, smothered in tangy BBQ sauce, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds pork shoulder
  • 2 cups BBQ sauce
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Buns for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Base: Place the sliced onion and minced garlic at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Season the Star: Rub the pork shoulder with paprika, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Layer it Up: Place the seasoned pork shoulder in the slow cooker on top of the onions and garlic.
  4. Sauce it Up: Pour BBQ sauce over the pork, covering it completely.
  5. Set and Forget: Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender.
  6. Shred and Serve: Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred with two forks.
  7. Assemble the Sandwiches: Serve on buns with additional BBQ sauce if desired.

Notes

For maximum tenderness, cook on low and slow. Leftovers can be stored for up to 4 days in the refrigerator.
