A vibrant and flavorful dish blending fresh lemon and rich garlic butter over perfectly baked salmon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 to 1.75 pounds skin-on salmon fillet
  • 1 lemon, sliced into thin rounds
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons honey
  • 5 cloves garlic, finely pressed or minced
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh parsley (optional for garnishing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) while you prepare the salmon.
  2. Place the salmon on a sheet of foil with the skin-side down. Raise the edges of the foil to create a little bowl that will hold all that delicious buttery mixture.
  3. Gently nestle the thin lemon slices underneath the salmon, spacing them evenly around the fillet.
  4. Add the melted butter (about 1 minute on high power should do the trick) and then stir in the lemon juice, honey, and garlic.
  5. Pour or spoon about three-quarters of your buttery mixture over the salmon, reserving the rest for later.
  6. Evenly sprinkle the salmon with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  7. Seal up the foil tightly, crimping or pinching the edges to create a completely airtight packet.
  8. Place the foil pack on a baking sheet and bake for about 17 minutes, until the salmon is cooked through and tender.
  9. Carefully remove the foil pack from the oven and open it to expose the salmon.
  10. Set your oven to Hi broil. Spoon any reserved buttery mixture over the salmon and broil for about 5 to 10 minutes, or until golden.
  11. Optionally garnish the salmon with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Use high-quality, wild-caught salmon for the best flavor. Don’t skip the marinating step for enhanced taste.
