A delightful and vibrant salmon dish baked with garlic butter sauce and fresh lemon, perfect for weeknight dinners or special gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 to 1.75 pounds skin-on salmon fillet
  • 1 lemon, sliced into thin rounds
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons honey
  • 5 cloves garlic, finely pressed or minced
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh parsley (optional for garnishing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) while you prepare the salmon.
  2. Place the salmon on a sheet of foil with the skin-side down. Raise the edges of the foil to create a little bowl that will hold all that delicious buttery mixture.
  3. Nestle the thin lemon slices underneath the salmon, spacing them evenly around the fillet.
  4. In a microwave-safe bowl, add the melted butter and then stir in the lemon juice, honey, and garlic.
  5. Pour or spoon about three-quarters of your buttery mixture over the salmon, reserving the rest for later.
  6. Evenly sprinkle the salmon with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper for that perfect finishing touch.
  7. Seal up the foil tightly, crimping or pinching the edges to create a completely airtight packet.
  8. Place the foil pack on a baking sheet and bake for about 17 minutes, until the salmon is cooked through and tender.
  9. Carefully remove the foil pack from the oven and open it to expose the salmon, keeping the edges raised to contain all that amazing buttery sauce.
  10. Set your oven to Hi broil. Spoon any reserved buttery mixture over the salmon and broil for about 5 to 10 minutes, or until golden.
  11. Optionally garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality wild-caught salmon. Allowing the salmon to marinate enhances flavor.
