A comforting dish featuring jumbo pasta shells stuffed with a rich ricotta and beef filling, enveloped in savory marinara sauce and topped with gooey mozzarella.

Ingredients

  • Jumbo Pasta Shells: 12-16 shells
  • Ground Beef: 1 pound
  • Ricotta Cheese: 15 ounces
  • Egg: 1 large
  • Italian Seasoning: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt and Pepper: to taste
  • Mozzarella Cheese: 1 cup, shredded
  • Marinara Sauce: 2 cups
  • Parmesan Cheese: 1/2 cup, grated

Instructions

  1. Cook the Jumbo Pasta Shells In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain carefully and set aside, ensuring they don’t stick together.
  2. Brown the Ground Beef In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Season with salt and pepper, and sauté until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain any excess fat before transferring the beef to a large mixing bowl.
  3. Mix the Filling To the bowl with cooked beef, add ricotta cheese, the egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined. This creamy mixture is what makes each bite a savory delight!
  4. Stuff the Shells Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Using a small spoon, carefully fill each cooked shell with the ricotta and beef mixture. Don’t be shy—pack them generously!
  5. Assemble the Dish Spread a layer of marinara sauce at the bottom of a baking dish. Arrange the stuffed shells on top, and then cover with the remaining marinara sauce. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan over the top for that cheesy finish.
  6. Bake and Serve Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your masterpiece with a sprinkle of fresh herbs!

Notes

Make sure the pasta shells are cooked al dente; they will continue to cook while baking! If you don’t have ricotta, cottage cheese is a great substitute—just blend it to smooth out the texture. Always taste the filling before stuffing—adjust seasoning to your preference!
