A savory Portobello Mushroom Burger perfect for summer barbecues, packed with fresh toppings and a meaty texture.

Ingredients

  • 4 large portobello mushrooms
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 cup spinach or lettuce
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 cup cheese (optional)
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill or a grill pan over medium heat.
  2. Clean the mushrooms with a damp paper towel and twist off the stems.
  3. Brush the mushrooms with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Grill the mushrooms for 5-7 minutes on each side until tender.
  5. Create the burger base by placing the grilled mushrooms on the bottom half of hamburger buns.
  6. Top with spinach or lettuce and sliced tomato, adding cheese if desired.
  7. Serve immediately with the top half of the bun.

Notes
