A creative dish that combines pizza and burgers, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 16 ounces pizza dough
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 20 slices pepperoni
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and grease a 9-inch pie dish with a thin layer of olive oil.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic, and sauté until translucent.
  3. Add ground beef, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Cook until the meat is browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
  4. Stir in pizza sauce and simmer for 2 minutes. Then, remove from heat and set aside.
  5. On a lightly floured surface, roll out pizza dough to about 1/4-inch thickness. Press it into the bottom and up the sides of the prepared pie dish.
  6. Spoon the beef and sauce mixture evenly into the dough-lined dish.
  7. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the meat mixture, layer pepperoni slices on top, and finish with grated Parmesan.
  8. Fold the overhanging dough edges toward the center to create a rustic crust, leaving a small opening in the middle.
  9. Brush the exposed crust with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
  11. Remove from the oven and let the pie rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  12. Slice into wedges and serve while warm.

Notes

Serve with a side salad or garlic bread. You can also offer extra pizza sauce or ranch dressing for dipping.
