Indulge in a comforting plate of crispy waffle fries topped with savory steak, caramelized vegetables, and melted cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound thinly sliced steak (ribeye or sirloin)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 6 slices White American cheese (or provolone, mozzarella, or cheddar)
  • 1 pound frozen waffle fries
  • 12 tablespoons olive oil, for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Bake the waffle fries according to the package instructions until golden brown and crispy. Set aside.
  2. Sauté the onions and bell pepper in a large skillet with olive oil over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, until softened.
  3. Cook the steak by pushing the vegetables to the side and adding the steak to the skillet. Season with garlic salt and black pepper, cooking for 3-4 minutes until browned.
  4. Melt the cheese over the steak and vegetable mixture. Cover and let melt for about 1-2 minutes.
  5. Combine the cheesy steak mixture with the waffle fries on a large serving platter.

Notes

Serve with a side of ranch or salsa for dipping. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
