A delightful fusion of savory flavors wrapped in tender cabbage leaves, perfect for a family dinner or healthy meal prep.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 head of cabbage
  • 1 lb ground meat (beef, turkey, or chicken)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (optional)
  • Cooking spray or olive oil for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Remove the core from the cabbage and carefully separate the leaves. Blanch the leaves in boiling water for 1-2 minutes until slightly softened, then drain and set aside.
  3. Combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, diced onions, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika in a large bowl. Mix until just combined.
  4. Take a cabbage leaf and place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center. Fold the sides over the filling and roll it up.
  5. Place the cabbage rolls seam-side down in a baking dish. Repeat with the remaining leaves and filling.
  6. If using, sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the burgers.
  7. Lightly spray the rolls with cooking spray or drizzle with olive oil.
  8. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the burgers are cooked through and golden.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy your Oven-Baked Cabbage Burgers!
