One-Pot Garlic Butter Sausage and Orzo

A comforting one-pot meal featuring sausage, orzo, and garlic in a rich, creamy sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large pot or skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add the orzo pasta and mix well with the sausage.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper once the orzo is tender.
  8. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until creamy.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half. You can also add veggies like spinach or cherry tomatoes for added nutrients.
