Deliciously chewy and crispy oatmeal cookies, perfect for sharing and capturing nostalgic moments.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup raisins or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Mix together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Add the dry mixture to the creamed butter and sugars until just combined.
  6. Fold in the rolled oats and optional raisins or chocolate chips.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  8. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  9. Let them cool on the cookie sheets before transferring to wire racks.

Notes
