A delightful and comforting sandwich featuring savory ham, tender turkey, and creamy Swiss cheese, perfectly fried for a crispy exterior.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread (white or wheat)
  • 1 slice of ham
  • 1 slice of turkey or chicken
  • 1 slice of Swiss cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Butter for frying
  • Powdered sugar (optional)
  • Jelly or jam for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat and melt a bit of butter.
  2. Assemble the sandwich by layering the ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese between the slices of bread.
  3. Whisk together the egg, milk, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Dip the sandwich in the egg mixture, ensuring it’s well coated on both sides.
  5. Place the sandwich in the hot skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Serve hot, dusted with powdered sugar and with jelly or jam on the side if desired.

Notes
