Delicious Matzo-Misu

A unique twist on traditional tiramisu with dark chocolate and peppermint layers, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons brandy (optional)
  • 4 ounces chopped dark chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 2 cups mascarpone cheese
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup brewed coffee espresso
  • 48 pieces lady fingers
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies
  • 1 cup dark chocolate curls (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Whisk the egg yolks and 1/4 cup sugar until creamy and pale in color.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate until smooth.
  3. Combine peppermint extract into the melted chocolate.
  4. Mix in the mascarpone cheese until smooth.
  5. Prepare the whipped cream by whipping the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  6. Fold the whipped cream into the chocolate-mascarpone mixture carefully.
  7. Assemble the espresso with brandy, if using.
  8. Soak the lady fingers in the espresso mixture.
  9. Layer the soaked lady fingers with the chocolate-mascarpone mixture in a dish.
  10. Chill the Matzo-Misu for at least 4 hours before serving.
  11. Garnish with cocoa powder, crushed peppermint candies, and chocolate curls before serving.

Notes

This dessert can be made a day in advance; it tastes even better after chilling.
