A comforting dish combining ground beef and crunchy cabbage, flavored with soy sauce and ginger, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 small onion, finely diced
  • 3 cups green cabbage, shredded
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat from the pan.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the browned beef. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onion is fragrant and soft.
  3. Toss the shredded cabbage into the skillet. Sauté for about 5 minutes, or until slightly wilted but still crunchy.
  4. Drizzle in the soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, ground ginger, and optional red pepper flakes. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Stir together and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  5. Serve topped with sliced green onions and a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute ground beef with turkey or chicken. Feel free to add other vegetables for added nutrients.
