A comforting skillet meal featuring tender steak, fluffy rice, and a sweet honey garlic sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb steak, cut into strips
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare to sear the steak by heating olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and seasoning the steak with salt and pepper.
  2. Sear the steak in the skillet for 3-4 minutes until browned, then remove and let it rest.
  3. Melt the butter in the same skillet over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute.
  4. Add the honey, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard to the skillet and bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Combine the uncooked rice in the skillet, stirring to coat in the sauce.
  6. Introduce the beef broth, bringing it to a boil so the rice absorbs the liquid.
  7. Simmer on low, covered, for about 15 minutes until the rice is fluffy.
  8. Return the steak to the skillet, gently stirring to combine and heat through for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Serve alongside a green salad or steamed broccoli to enhance the meal.
