A nostalgic and deliciously messy take on classic Sloppy Joes, perfect for busy weeknights or family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. Brown the beef in a large skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onion and green bell pepper to the skillet and sauté until softened.
  3. Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, salt, and pepper.
  4. Let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve the sloppy joe mixture on hamburger buns.

Notes

For added flavor, serve with crispy homemade fries or fresh coleslaw. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
