A classic comfort food featuring juicy ribeye steak, caramelized onions, and melted provolone cheese in a hoagie roll.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. Add the sliced onions and green bell peppers to the skillet and sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Push the veggies to one side and add the thinly sliced steak, cooking until browned, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Combine the steak with the sautéed veggies, then place the provolone cheese on top and cover until melted.
  5. Split the hoagie rolls and fill them with the steak mixture.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For best slicing, freeze the ribeye for about 30 minutes. Feel free to substitute with chicken or different cheeses.
