This comforting Ground Beef Stroganoff features tender ground beef in a creamy sauce served over egg noodles, perfect for busy weeknights or family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium heat until melted and bubbly.
  2. Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, for about four minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  4. Brown the ground beef, breaking it up into small crumbles.
  5. Cook the beef until fully browned and no longer pink, about six to eight minutes.
  6. Sprinkle the flour over the beef mixture and stir well to coat.
  7. Cook the flour for about one minute while stirring frequently.
  8. Pour in the beef broth, stirring continuously.
  9. Add Worcestershire sauce and Dijon mustard, stirring until combined.
  10. Season with salt and pepper.
  11. Simmer the sauce for five minutes until slightly thickened.
  12. Cook the egg noodles in a large pot of salted water according to package instructions.
  13. Drain the cooked noodles and set aside.
  14. Stir in the sour cream to the beef mixture until smooth.
  15. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
  16. Combine the drained noodles with the beef and sauce.
  17. Heat through on low for another two to three minutes.
  18. Serve with chopped parsley garnish.

Notes

For a lighter version, use ground turkey or chicken. Feel free to add mushrooms or peas for extra nutrition.
