A comforting dish featuring tender chicken, rich ham, and gooey Swiss cheese enveloped in a crispy, golden crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Butter or oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place each chicken breast between two pieces of plastic wrap and pound to an even thickness.
  3. Season both sides of each piece of chicken with salt and pepper.
  4. Layer a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on top of each chicken breast.
  5. Roll the chicken tightly, tucking in the sides to encase the ham and cheese, and secure with toothpicks.
  6. Dredge each roll in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and coat in breadcrumbs.
  7. Heat butter or oil over medium heat in a skillet.
  8. Cook the chicken rolls for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  9. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish and bake for 20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
  10. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then remove toothpicks and serve.

Notes

For a crispy texture, ensure the oil is hot before adding chicken. You can swap Swiss cheese for provolone or mozzarella.
