A vibrant and refreshing Sweet Fruit Salsa paired with crispy homemade cinnamon sugar tortilla chips, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 apple, diced (Use a sweet variety like Fuji or Honeycrisp.)
  • 1 kiwi, diced
  • 1 cup strawberries, diced (Fresh strawberries work best.)
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice (Freshly squeezed lime juice is recommended.)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional) (Adjust based on sweetness preference.)
  • 4 pieces flour tortillas (Can substitute with whole wheat tortillas.)
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar (1 tablespoon cinnamon + 1 tablespoon sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (Can use oil as a lower-fat alternative.)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fruits: Start by washing and preparing your delicious fruits. Dice the apple and kiwi, and slice the strawberries before gently combining them with the raspberries in a large bowl.
  2. Add Zest and Sweetness: Squeeze in the freshly squeezed lime juice over the fruit mixture. If you prefer a sweeter touch, drizzle in the tablespoon of honey and toss gently to combine.
  3. Create Cinnamon Sugar Chips: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush each tortilla with melted butter or oil, then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the top.
  4. Bake the Chips: Place the coated tortillas on a baking sheet and bake for about 8-10 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  5. Cool and Crisp: Once golden, remove the chips from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
  6. Final Assembly: Serve the refreshing fruit salsa in a beautiful bowl alongside the warm cinnamon sugar tortilla chips.

Notes

Make sure to slice the fruits just before serving to maintain their freshness.
