Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Butter for cooking
  • Maple syrup and whipped cream for serving

Instructions

  1. Gather your dry ingredients: In a bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Whisk the wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry mixture. The batter will be thick.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over low heat and grease it with butter.
  5. Pour the batter: Scoop 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet, leaving space between pancakes.
  6. Cover the skillet with a lid and let them cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side.
  7. Flip each pancake and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes uncovered.
  8. Serve hot topped with maple syrup and whipped cream.

Notes

For fluffier pancakes, separate egg whites and yolks, whip the whites, and fold them into the batter before cooking.
