Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable broth or water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Sauté the pearl onions for about 5 minutes until they begin to soften.
  3. Add the brown sugar and cook for another 2 minutes until the sugar melts.
  4. Combine the vegetable broth or water and bring to a simmer.
  5. Glaze the onions by reducing heat to low, covering the skillet, and cooking for about 30 minutes.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
