A fluffy vanilla cake infused with colorful jello, topped with whipped cream and sprinkles, perfect for Easter celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box vanilla cake mix
  • 3 cups water (for preparing the cake mix)
  • 1 package colorful jello (various flavors)
  • 1 cup whipped topping
  • Sprinkles or colorful toppings (optional for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions. In a mixing bowl, prepare the vanilla cake batter by combining the cake mix with the specified 3 cups of water. Mix until just combined—don’t worry about a few lumps!
  2. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and place it in the oven. Bake until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, typically around 25-30 minutes.
  3. Once the cake is baked and cooled slightly (about 10 minutes), use the end of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the surface of the cake. Be generous; the more holes, the more jello flavor will seep in!
  4. Following the jello package instructions, dissolve it in hot water. If you’re using several flavors, feel free to mix and match to create a fun pattern!
  5. Carefully pour the prepared jello over the poked cake, making sure to let it fill the holes. The jello will create those signature vibrant, colorful stripes that make every slice a surprise.
  6. Refrigerate the cake for at least 2-3 hours, allowing the jello to set into the cake fully.
  7. Once the cake has set, spread the whipped topping evenly over the top.
  8. Finish it off by generously sprinkling colorful toppings or sprinkles over the whipped cream for that festive touch.

Notes

Ensure the cake has cooled sufficiently before pouring in the jello to prevent it from melting. Feel free to use different flavored jellos for added fun.
