A rich and creamy mushroom sauce that elevates your steak dinner with its velvety texture and deep flavors.

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the skillet by combining the olive oil and butter over medium heat until melted.
  2. Sauté the mushrooms for about 5-7 minutes until beautifully browned.
  3. Add the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the beef broth, using a spatula to scrape up any browned bits.
  5. Simmer the broth for a couple of minutes to meld the flavors.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese, simmering on low for 5-7 minutes until thickened.
  7. If desired, stir in the Dijon mustard and adjust seasoning as needed.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Mushroom Variety: Use a mix such as cremini and shiitake for added flavor. For a vegetarian option, substitute beef broth with vegetable broth.
