A delightful dessert transforming leftover croissants into a decadent treat, soaked in creamy custard and drizzled with caramel.

  • 4 leftover croissants
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • A pinch of salt
  • Caramel sauce (for drizzling)
  • Vanilla ice cream (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter or non-stick spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Tear the croissants into bite-sized pieces and place them in the greased baking dish.
  3. Whisk together the milk, heavy cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  4. Pour the custard mixture evenly over the croissant pieces and soak for about 15 minutes.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
  6. Serve warm, drizzled with caramel sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.

Notes

For extra elegance, add whipped cream or powdered sugar. Pair with strong coffee or dessert wine.
