A delightful home-style dish featuring crispy chicken bites glazed in a savory soy and honey sauce, reminiscent of favorite local Asian restaurants.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Green onions, sliced, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Toss the chicken pieces in cornstarch until they are well coated.
  2. Heat the Oil: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Fry the Chicken: Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Create the Sauce: In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, garlic, and grated ginger.
  5. Combine Chicken and Sauce: Pour the sauce over the crispy chicken and stir until combined, allowing to intermingle for a minute.
  6. Thicken the Sauce: Allow the sauce to thicken slightly before taking off the heat.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

For extra crispiness, let the coated chicken rest for 10 minutes before frying. Avoid overcrowding the skillet.
