A delightful salmon dish with a sweet and tangy honey orange glaze, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 4 6-ounce salmon fillets (skin on)
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic (crushed or minced)
  • 1 pinch salt (to taste)
  • 1 pinch cracked pepper (to taste)
  • 1/2 orange sliced (to serve)

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil and butter in a pan over medium-high heat until hot and shimmering.
  2. Sear the salmon skin-side up for 3-4 minutes until golden crust forms.
  3. Flip the salmon fillets and sear for another 2 minutes for crispy skin.
  4. Add the fresh orange juice and reduce to half, about 1 minute.
  5. Introduce minced garlic and cook until fragrant, around 30 seconds.
  6. Combine honey and soy sauce with salmon moved to the sides of the pan, stirring to create a glaze.
  7. Simmer until the mixture is syrupy, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  8. Coat the salmon with the sauce, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve drizzled with remaining sauce and garnish with orange slices.

Notes

Use a non-stick skillet for the best results and experiment with different citrus fruits for unique flavors.
