Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces goat cheese, sliced into rounds
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko works great!)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (for tanginess)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cheese by slicing it into rounds and chilling in the freezer for a few minutes.
  2. Set up your breading station with flour, eggs, and breadcrumbs in three shallow bowls.
  3. Bread the cheese rounds by coating them in flour, then egg, and finally breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat, about 1/2 inch deep.
  5. Fry the breaded cheese rounds for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Make the tangy honey drizzle by whisking honey and apple cider vinegar together.
  7. Plate the goat cheese bites and drizzle with honey mixture, garnishing with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Serve with a crisp green salad or a glass of white wine. Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
