  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 10 small flour tortillas
  • Vegetable oil for frying (approximately 1 inch deep)
  • Salsa, guacamole, chopped cilantro for serving

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients, assembling everything on the countertop.
  2. Mix the filling in a large bowl: shredded chicken, cheeses, sour cream, and spices until creamy.
  3. Prepare the tortillas by warming them in a skillet for about 20 seconds per side.
  4. Fill each tortilla with about 3 tablespoons of chicken mixture and roll tightly.
  5. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches about 350°F.
  6. Fry the taquitos for about 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Repeat frying with remaining taquitos, adjusting heat as necessary.
  8. Serve with salsa, guacamole, and finely chopped cilantro.

Notes

For extra crunch, consider double frying your taquitos. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze uncooked for up to 3 months.
