Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 stalks Celery
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 4 cups Seafood Broth or Vegetable Broth
  • 1 can Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper (optional)
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream or Milk
  • 1 pound Large Shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 cup Cooked Crab Meat
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Fresh Parsley

Instructions

  1. Sautéing Aromatics: Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, celery, and minced garlic. Sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the onions are translucent and fragrant.
  2. Building the Base: Pour in your seafood or vegetable broth, followed by the can of diced tomatoes. Stir in the paprika, Old Bay seasoning, and cayenne pepper if you’re feeling adventurous. Let this simmer for about 10 minutes.
  3. Incorporating the Cream: Stir in the heavy cream, bring it to a gentle simmer, and allow it to cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Adding Seafood: Carefully add the shrimp and cooked crab meat to the pot. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  5. Garnishing and Final Touches: Remove the pot from heat and stir in the fresh parsley.
