  • 12 oz penne or rigatoni pasta
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the Italian sausage; cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it up as it cooks.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and, if you have it on hand, a touch of fresh thyme. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the honey and chicken broth; bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese; reduce heat and cook until the sauce thickens, which will take about 5 minutes.
  6. Season the creamy sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. While the sauce is thickening, cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta.
  8. Toss the drained pasta with the creamy honey garlic sausage sauce until evenly coated.
  9. Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley for a burst of color and flavor.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat on low heat on the stove or in the microwave, adding a splash of chicken broth if the sauce has thickened too much.
