  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil (or butter for richer taste)
  • 2 tablespoons Butter (optional to use extra olive oil)
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth or White Wine (vegetable broth for a lighter version)
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream (or half-and-half)
  • ½ cup Parmesan Cheese (or pecorino/nutritional yeast)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your shrimp by peeling and deveining them, then pat dry.
  2. Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  4. Cook the shrimp, seasoning with salt, pepper, and paprika, until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Deglaze the pan with chicken broth or white wine, scraping up flavorful bits.
  6. Create the creamy sauce by stirring in heavy cream, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes; let simmer for 5 minutes.
  7. Finalize the dish by tasting and adjusting seasonings as needed.
  8. Serve garnished with fresh herbs over pasta, rice, or with bread.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half. Adding spinach or mushrooms can enhance the dish.
