A cozy and satisfying dish featuring tender chicken enveloped in a rich creamy garlic sauce over rice.

  • 1 lb diced chicken (breasts or thighs)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk or broth
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Dried thyme or parsley, to taste
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 cups cooked jasmine or basmati rice
  • Fresh parsley, sliced green onions or lemon juice, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Cook the chicken in olive oil over medium heat for 6-8 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  3. Sauté the garlic in melted butter for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Create a roux by sprinkling flour over the garlic and cooking for a minute.
  5. Whisk in the milk or broth gradually until the sauce is lump-free.
  6. Mix in the Parmesan cheese, thyme, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes; simmer until thickened.
  7. Assemble the bowl with cooked rice and top with chicken.
  8. Serve with creamy sauce poured over the chicken and rice.
  9. Garnish with parsley, green onions, or lemon juice.
