Creamy Garlic Butter Steak and Rice

A comforting dish of tender sirloin steak in a rich garlic butter sauce served over fluffy jasmine rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sirloin steak
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup jasmine rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Combine the rinsed rice with beef broth in a saucepan and bring to a boil; then simmer for 20 minutes.
  3. Season the sirloin steak generously with salt and pepper.
  4. Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a skillet and sear the steak for 4-5 minutes on each side.
  5. Melt the unsalted butter in the skillet over medium heat.
  6. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  7. Stir in the heavy cream and simmer until slightly thickened.
  8. Slice the rested steak and toss in the garlic butter sauce.
  9. Layer the steak mixture over the rice and garnish with parsley.

Notes

For perfectly cooked rice, measure both rice and broth carefully. Adjust the garlic amount according to your preference.
