  • 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, drain and set aside.
  2. Brown the Italian sausage in a large skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until browned, then set aside.
  3. Sauté the minced garlic in the same skillet with melted butter until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  4. Create the creamy mixture by adding heavy cream, chicken broth, and ranch seasoning mix to the skillet and let it simmer.
  5. Add the grated Parmesan cheese and stir until it melts and the sauce is creamy, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Combine the cooked penne pasta and browned Italian sausage with the sauce, gently tossing to coat.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

You can use spicy sausage for an extra kick or add vegetables like steamed broccoli for a healthier twist.
