A comforting one-skillet dish featuring tender chicken in a rich, creamy Cajun sauce with orzo pasta.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 lb diced chicken
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter until it’s bubbling gently.
  2. Add the diced chicken to the skillet and sprinkle on the Cajun seasoning; cook for 5–7 minutes until browned and cooked through, then remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, toss in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, along with the diced onion and bell pepper; sauté for about 4 minutes until softened, then stir in the minced garlic, cooking for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the orzo and chicken broth to the mixture; bring to a boil, cover, and let simmer for about 10–12 minutes until the orzo is tender.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until smoothly combined, creating a velvety sauce.
  6. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and mix everything together until heated through.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
