Warm and fluffy cinnamon sugar donuts that are perfect for breakfast or as a sweet treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Whisk the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Mix the wet ingredients in another bowl until frothy.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently.
  4. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and roll it out to about 1/2 inch thick.
  5. Cut the dough into strips and shape them into donuts.
  6. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Fry the donuts for about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  8. Mix sugar and cinnamon together for the coating.
  9. Remove the donuts from oil and coat them while warm in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Ensure oil is at the right temperature for frying. You can bake the donuts at 375°F (190°C) for about 12-15 minutes for a healthier option.
