  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • Whipped cream for topping
  • Additional fresh strawberries for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the cake evenly.
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans to prevent sticking and ensure easy cake removal.
  3. Cream the softened butter and sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Combine the all-purpose flour and baking powder in a separate bowl.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture alternately with the milk.
  7. Fold the sliced fresh strawberries into the batter.
  8. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans, smoothing the tops.
