These delightful energy bites combine rich dark chocolate with zesty orange for a perfect on-the-go snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients, measuring cups, and a mixing bowl.
  2. Mix the rolled oats, almond butter, honey or maple syrup, and the pinch of salt together in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add the zest and juice of your orange to the mixture.
  4. Fold in the dark chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  5. Sprinkle in the nuts or seeds and stir until combined.
  6. Shape about a tablespoon of the mixture into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Chill the bites in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to help them firm up.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week or freeze for up to 3 months.
