  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Stir in the granulated sugar until well combined and remove from heat.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time to the butter-sugar mixture, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pan.
  6. Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until just simmering. Pour over the chopped chocolate and let sit for a few minutes, then stir until smooth.
  7. Once the brownies are cool, cut them into small squares and dip the tops into the ganache, allowing excess to drip off. Let set on a wire rack.

Notes

Use good-quality chocolate for the ganache for the best flavor. Allow ingredients to reach room temperature for better mixing.
