Delightful soft and fluffy brioches filled with sweet custard and chocolate chips, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup vanilla custard

Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk, active dry yeast, and a teaspoon of sugar. Let it sit until frothy.
  2. Whisk together flour, remaining sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  6. Combine chocolate chips and vanilla custard in a separate bowl.
  7. Punch down the risen dough, divide into 12 pieces, fill with chocolate custard, and shape.
  8. Let the shaped dough rise on a baking sheet for 30 minutes.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Cool and enjoy your brioches!

Notes

Serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar or drizzled with chocolate sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
