A warm, cheesy sandwich loaded with savory goodness from juicy chicken, sautéed peppers, and melted cheese that captures the essence of a traditional Philly cheesesteak.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (such as provolone or cheddar)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the skillet: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Sear the chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper and add them to the skillet. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and let rest before slicing.
  3. Sauté the veggies: In the same skillet, add sliced bell pepper and onion. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Combine chicken and veggies: Slice the cooked chicken and return to the skillet, mixing with the vegetables.
  5. Assemble the sandwiches: Layer the chicken and vegetable mixture onto the hoagie rolls and top with shredded cheese.
  6. Broil to perfection: Place sandwiches under a broiler until cheese is melted. Serve hot.

Notes

Pair with a side salad or homemade potato chips for a complete meal. Adjust the cheese and vegetables to your liking!
