A delicious dish combining tender chicken, juicy shrimp, and a creamy bourbon sauce, perfect for a special dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the chicken pieces, season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Melt the butter in the same skillet and add the shrimp. Season with Cajun seasoning and cook until pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Return the chicken to the skillet and pour in the bourbon. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until the alcohol evaporates.
  6. Add the heavy cream, soy sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and crushed red pepper flakes. Stir well and let it simmer for an additional 5-7 minutes until sauce thickens.
  7. Serve hot over rice or pasta, garnished with parsley if desired.

Notes

Cut chicken into uniform pieces for even cooking and adjust spiciness with crushed red pepper flakes.
