A juicy burger topped with sweet-savory bourbon-bacon jam, smoked gouda, and fresh greens, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices smoked gouda cheese
  • Burger buns
  • Lettuce and tomato for topping

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon in a skillet until crispy. Remove and chop.
  2. Sauté the chopped onions in the same skillet until translucent and fragrant.
  3. Add bourbon, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and the chopped bacon into the skillet. Simmer until it thickens, about 10 minutes.
  4. Season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Form into patties.
  5. Grill the patties to desired doneness, about 4-5 minutes on each side. Add gouda during the last minute of grilling.
  6. Assemble the burger with the grilled patty, bourbon-bacon jam, lettuce, and tomato on a bun.

Notes
