  • 1/4 cup miso paste
  • 1/4 cup sake
  • 1/4 cup mirin
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Whisking the marinade: In a bowl, whisk together miso paste, sake, mirin, sugar, and soy sauce until smooth.
  2. Marinating the fish: Place the black cod fillets in a resealable bag and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 24 hours.
  3. Preheating the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Preparing for baking: Remove the fish from the marinade and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Baking to perfection: Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the fish is flaky and caramelized on the top.
  6. Final touches: Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
