Hearty, flavorful black bean burgers that are a healthy alternative to traditional burgers. Perfect for summer barbecues and bursting with flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 can black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup corn (fresh, frozen, or canned)
  • 1/4 cup onion, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking
  • Burger buns
  • Toppings (lettuce, tomato, avocado, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Mash the black beans in a bowl with a fork until mostly smooth.
  2. Stir in breadcrumbs, corn, onion, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into patties, about 1 inch thick.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Carefully place the patties in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Serve the patties on burger buns with your choice of toppings.

Notes

Feel free to adjust spices and toppings according to your taste. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days or frozen for a month.
